May God bless us all as we do His work for the poor

I was born Joseph Swam in Puthucode in the KannyaKumari District near the southernmost tip of India. KanyaKumari means "Land's End". My father was devoted to St. Joseph and I was named after him. I was ordained as a diocesean priest on St. Joseph's feast day March 19th 1956. I have devoted my life to the service of the poor in my home district.

In 1983, after many years in diocesean work, I founded the St. Joseph's Social Welfare Center. Managing the Center is a great challenge, but with the help of the Holy Spirit and the contributions of friends like you, I will continue to serve the poor and unwanted.
